NEW ‘O7 -Model Level since 2004, the
authority’s newer green efforts include implementing a Universal Chassis
Pool program that reduced the number of chassis needed to serve the port
by 30 percent. This program reduced truck turnaround time by 10 percent,
saving 1.2 million gallons of fuel and eliminating 1,500 tons of
greenhouse gases. The port also switched three years early to ultra-low
sulfur diesel which resulted in elimination of 58 tons of sulfur dioxide
in air emissions. |
