NEW ‘O7 -The education non-profit collected
25,500 more pounds of computers and electronics in 2007 than the prior
year, and initiated “swaps” for citizens to bring unwanted materials,
such as holiday decorations, for others to take home. The commission
also started a program to lend portable recycling containers for special
events. Plantings during the great American Cleanup and tree giveaways
on Arbor Day improved habitat throughout the city. |
