Chesapeake Energy Center -NEW ‘O7 -The
coal-burning power plant on the Southern Branch switched to low sulfur
coal in 2007, reducing sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions by 7,723 tons over
2006. A new “Carbon Burn Out” unit achieved re-use of 129,448 tons of
fly ash that previously would have gone to landfills. |
