NEW ‘O7 -The river’s largest private shipyard
last year began recovering steam condensate from boilers and reusing the
water as boiler feed, rather than discharging it to the sanitary sewer.
The savings: 485,000 gallons of water and $10,000 for 2007. Numerous new
energy efficiencies include variable speed drives on motors, resulting
in 66% reduction in electricity and $96,000 savings. |
