The Port reduced air emissions from off-road vehicles by 30 percent (200,000 pounds) -- despite a 12 percent growth in container movement -- through procedures including replacing older engines with cleaner burning units, as well as computer tracking for more efficient movement. The under-wharf stormwater detention basin is now treating 80% of 108 acres.
