Norfolk Naval Shipyard

A nine-step P2 process has been implemented, yielding a reduction of 16,000 pounds of hazardous materials. At the urging of the community and The Elizabeth River Project, Scott's Center Annex, a Superfund site, was transformed into a wetland and riparian buffer in lieu of a paved parking lot. The shipyard won the Coastal America Award  from the White House for restoration effort on Paradise Creek.
