NOAA showed unprecedented responsiveness in immediate implementation of virtually every recommendation for habitat enhancement, P2 (Pollution Prevention), and stormwater initiatives despite limited opportunities at the site. Projects included stormwater inserts on every inlet, native buffer creation and landscaping, an energy management program that saved the facility $3,500 in the first two months, oyster gardening for river restoration, and bilge and grease cleanup by microbes, to name a few.
