| Permeable Pavement Leaders...Naval Medical Center continues to be a leader in permeable pavement, recently replacing a road with pervious pavers. The hospital has reduced impervious area by more than 10 percent since 1994. Naval Medical Center also implemented storm drain stenciling and Adopt-A-Spot programs. Reusable "sharps" containers eliminated solid waste by 65,000 pounds. Habitat projects includes eradicating invasive reed and enhancing the buffer. |
