Festive lights, elegant tents and tables of great food and drink will dress up the boardwalk at High Street Ferry Landing in Historic Olde Town Portsmouth for RiverFest 2008. And you can be front and center as a sponsor!

Friends of the Elizabeth River will celebrate the past year's accomplishments and shore up resources for the coming year's challenges.

Around 300 to 400 citizens, members, volunteers, partners, River Star industries and sponsors from across Hampton Roads will be there in cocktail attire, but an interesting twist has been added this year. Participants are encouraged to add a casual touch by wearing their favorite pair of flip-flops or tennis shoes!

The footwear may be more than a gimmick. Butter, a popular four-piece high-energy rock band, will have the crowd on its feet and dancing under the stars! Based out of Virginia Beach, Butter is widely known, traveling around the east coast and playing at high profile events including a Presidential Inaugural Ball (and already booked for Inaugural '09!)
