Sponsors, restaurants,
volunteers, artists and attendees helped make RiverFest 2008 and huge
success...and netted $25,000 for the cause!
Rain
from earlier in the day departed and the weather was gorgeous as more
than 300 people danced the night away along the downtown Portsmouth
waterfront! Roger Brown’s Sports Bar won “favorite restaurant†among
nearly a dozen restaurants donating their specialty dishes.
Bidding was hot and heavy for more than 75 silent auction items! Many of
the artists were in attendance from among more than 40 who painted
original river scenes at the party location in August. They donated half
their proceeds. Stay tuned for how much was raised for river
restoration. Already we know the party was a grand success in broadening
our fold!
